It's prefe...</title><content type='html'>It's quite right to illustrate Paestum. It's preferrable to another major archeological site, the Valley of Temples near Agrigento, Sicily. An eerie atmosphere can be felt in both places (just as it can at Stonehenge in England); but, while the Valley is composed of a collection of the ruins of 7 najor temples, Paestum still gives the vibrating feel of a&lt;br /&gt;town, pulsating with life, commerce, activities. From Paestum, it's a relatively short drive (70-85 km) to Pompei and Ercolano, two other residuals of Roman and Italian history.&lt;br /&gt;Aside from most temples, all entitled to gods of the Greek mythology, the "temple italicum", the forum, the thermal baths and the amphitheater are all Roman remnants.&lt;br /&gt;The hotel accommodations are adequate in both places, maybe as little more numerous and with a wider selection in Paestum than in the Valley.
