Italy's "Luna Rossa" Advances to 4 Team 2nd Round

The Louis Vuitton Cup opening round-robin ended with the top four of the 10 entrants advancing to the Second round, with the winner of that round advancing to sail against the America's Cup champion, Alinghi of Switzerland, in the finals beginning June 23.
BMW Oracle Racing finished atop the four with 9 out of 10 victories and 21points. Italy's Luna Rossa finished second with 19 points. The Kiwis Emirates Team New Zealand ended up 3rd with 18 points, and Spain's Desafнo finished fourth, with 17 points.
Italy's second entry "Mascalzone Latino" ended out of contention in a tie for fifth place with Sweden's Victory Challenge with 14 points.
Italy's third entry 39+ was far back in the pack.
